Future Unicorn🦄 #187: Hebbia

Reinventing search to empower knowledge workers

The Quild Future Unicorn highlights one future of work early-stage startup with statistically significant signals of becoming a unicorn.

Hebbia is reinventing the search engine to intelligently answer the world's most complex questions. Their AI understands and reasons over written knowledge to synthesize meaningful responses for users in seconds.

Founder: George

Signals:

  1. Top company/institution alumni

    1. George worked at NASA, SLAC Accelerator Lab

  2. Top university alumni

    1. George graduated from Stanford University (BS, MS, PhD on leave)

  3. Midas list investors

    1. Index Ventures led series A

    2. Floodgate led seed

    3. And a bunch of angels who are GPs at top funds like Peter Thiel

Side note: Having built a similar app, Hebbia is on to something big. I’m biased of course. But how much time do we spend finding the right information daily? A range of statistics suggest 30-70%. Imagine if we could save even just half an hour for every knowledge worker (even though we’ll just fill that up with more work).
